God's 5 Minute Plan for Victory

1. Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak. Your part is to avoid entering into temptation. That means do not give temptation any of your time or consideration. Entering into temptation means that you give it the time of day; you give it consideration; you think about it; your entertain it. Don’t look at it; don’t think about it. Watch out for that and ask God to give you speed and firmness to say no to temptation. Temptation is not sin. Entering into temptation to the point of yielding is sin. Once you enter into temptation you will sin because your flesh is weak.

2. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. We have and reveal the life of Jesus by abiding in Him. This means that we constantly, consciously ask God in prayer for the mind and thoughts and words of Jesus. The thoughts and words of Jesus are found in Scripture. Memorize Scripture. This is one of the best ways to keep the mind and thoughts and words of Jesus in our consciousness. This is abiding in Jesus. The results will be doing the works of Jesus and influencing others to do the same. The works and making disciples of others of Jesus, these are the bringing forth of much fruit.

3. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.Everything and anything that Jesus would do if He were in your place, you can do when you think the thoughts, and have the mind of Jesus. Doing what Jesus would do were He in your place is the all things that we can do through Christ, which strengthens us.

Desire the victory and God will give it.

4. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. The believing by faith that you have whatever Jesus would want you to have in answer to prayer is the certainty that you will see the answer to your prayer in God’s timing. Whenever we ask for victory over sin, it is always God’s will to answer that prayer immediately. We will experience victory over sin immediately on asking for it. The only condition for immediate answer to the prayer for victory over sin is to pray in faith without wavering. We cannot be double-minded. Being double minded means that we pray for victory but hope that we do not receive the victory over sin because we love the sin and do not want to give it up. James 1:6 - 8 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

Swim suite story. Mother told Johnny not to stop at the swimming hole on the way back from school today because they had important things to do this afternoon. Johnny said he would come right home after school. On the way out the door, mother noticed a buldge in Johnny’s back pocket and asked what it was. It was his swimsuit. Johnny explained: "Just in case I get tempted to swim on the way home from school".

Your part is to never plan to fail. Get rid of everything that leads to sin. Then God can work a miracle.

Promises for Victory

1 John 5:4,5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

James 4:6 - 8 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

Isaiah 27:5 Or let him take hold of my strength, [that] he may make peace with me; [and] he shall make peace with me.

Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
