Over a century ago inspiration penned words that ring as true today as then:"Character building is the most important work ever entrusted to human beings; and never before was its diligent study as important as now. Never was any previous generation called to meet issues so momentous…" The foundation for this "most important work" of developing a Christlike character is found in the words of Jeremiah 9:23,24, "Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord."

Not only has God given the books of Daniel and Revelation to forearm His people for the final scenes of earth’s character-testing history, but also to give them a deep understanding and transforming knowledge of the character of our wonderful Creator and Redeemer, the Lord God Almighty.2

I believe Dr. Foster has been guided to place a special combination of these two vital "endtime preparation" elements into this work.

As you peruse this unique literary catalyst for deeper study into the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation, I hope you will find, as I did, a most valuable call to "understand and know" our great and most loving God. For truly, "this is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom Thou hast sent." 3
